Welcome To Our Trust

A welcome to all from Jen Southall the CEO of Learn@ MAT

Welcome to Learn@ Multi-Academy Trust

Our group of academies serve the West of England with specialist education for children and young people aged 5 through to 19 who have a variety of needs.

I am extremely proud to have joined this trust in August 2021 and to build on the sterling work of Peter Evans, Learn@ MAT’s first CEO.

My vision is that across our academies we provide high quality learning opportunities and tailored therapeutic provision for children and young people who have been identified as having social, emotional, mental health (SEMH), social, language and communication needs (SLCN) and autistic spectrum condition (ASC). We also provide the same learning opportunities and emotional support for children and young people who have not thrived in mainstream school.

By doing so, we provide our children and young people with the best possible education and to secure for them a positive and fulfilled future.  We do this with a dedicated and talented specialist team in every academy, including support staff, trustees and academy councillors.

Across Learn@ we recognise that we are all different and life is not always equal and fair. Many young people have special needs and have faced traumatic early life experiences, which often result in their early educational experiences being challenging and negative.  Our aim is to support all children and young people, help them recognise their own worth, raise their self-esteem and re-engage in successful learning with a wide, relevant and rich curriculum. We know that young people’s needs don't stop when school holidays begin and our aim is to provide effective support and continued learning opportunities throughout the whole year.  This includes offering individual mentoring and holiday camps during the school holidays.

Please take the time to look at all our academies in more detail through the links provided below and contact them directly if you wish to arrange a visit.

If you are on the difficult journey of choosing a new school for your child, please do not hesitate to contact me through, or  We are here to support you in creating a positive future for your child.
