Learn@ Multi-Academy Trust (Learn@ MAT) are a specialist educational trust which focusses on educating young people aged 5 – 18 years, who have diagnosed Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH), or Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). We run four Academies across the region based in Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset and Wiltshire. Two are specialist school Academies, namely, Knowle DGE Academy and Notton House Academy; and two are Alternative Provisions, namely, St Matthias Academy and Lansdown Park Academy. We wish to open a new special free school in Soundwell, South Gloucestershire for up to 136 young people with special needs in SEMH or SLCN. This will cater for young people aged 5 to 18 years old and offer them both a full Academic curriculum and a Vocational Curriculum, which will include courses in Hair and Beauty, Hospitality and Catering, Motor Vehicle and Engineering and Construction. Our new school will also include a short-break residential provision for up to 12 young people to stay for two night breaks during the school week.
